More information about Blue Danube Blue & White Ceramic Butter Dish, One Stick 1/4lb

Flowing from southeastern Germany into the Black Sea, the Danube River's pristine beauty has inspired artists, poets, and musicians for hundreds of years. Blue Danube china follows in this tradition with its vivid Meissen blue floral designs against a pristine white background.

This vintage ceramic butter dish features the Blue Danube pattern and was made in Japan. It measures 4" x 7.5". It was made sometime between 1977 and 2000.

The condition is splendid with no cracks, chips, or crazing.

Porcelain pieces were made in Japan with dark-blue flowers on white ground, copied from Meissen's Onion pattern. A banner or ribbon  backstamp was used on Blue Danube pieces from 1951 through 1976, a rectangular backstamp from 1977 to 2000, and a 50th-anniversary backstamp was used in 2001.

I will be listing over 60 pieces in this pattern, so please see my other sale listings. Combined dispatch is available.
