Van Dell, Salem Massachusetts 1939 Carved Jet Rose.Pendant and 26 Chain 12k Yellow Gold Filled 1/20 Gold Pendant setting and chain both stamped and Hallmarked.My curating skills are fairly good; however, I could not find another pendant like this.The black Jet Rose is a charming, interesting piece.Other than the rarity of Jet itself. A carving that is in extraordinary condition is not often seen. This one is perfect .The 26 chain is in fair condition Jet is an older form of Amber. Like Amber, it is light in Spacific gravity, and prone to fracture. Definitely a loved, and well cared for, vintage piece.Wearing the Black Jet Rose upside down, as this one presents; is a statement, not only Mourning, but personal Rebellion, and Non-conformity.
